Antique pulley that was formerly used in a village water well in India fixed with thick ropes for hanging from a tree branch or beam. Made from solid hardwood, this architectural salvage piece is bold, heavy and full of character.
I have multiple pieces so each one will be different from what's shown in the photos. They average 17" diameter, 8" thick and around 30 lbs
A hole runs through the center where the pulley rod entered and there is a pulley rope groove running along the end.
Comes with the 1/2" rope attached and about 6' extra to hang. Not designed to hang from a ceiling hook as the weight is too heavy. Needs to hang from a metal/wood beam or tree branch that can support the weight.
I found this piece on a recent picking trip in India. It is likely from Rajasthan or Gujarat and the age is at least 50 years old.
