Small Remnant Architectural Salvage Wood Carving From India (8" x 7.5" x 6.5") Bookend, Candle Holder, Garden Decor, 50 - 100 years old

  • 4000

Beautiful vintage hand carved wood base recovered from a home in India. The wood block features ornamental elements that were beautifully hand chiseled by a craftsmen. The age is at least 50 and up to 100 years old.

This piece is a remnant and was originally part of a larger bracket.

This is indoor/outdoor suitable. Perfect as an objet, as a candle holder or bookend.

We found this ornamental wood plinth on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where I work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. These are actual recovered wood pieces from old homes. They have been weathered by the elements and from regular home use. You'll see that I take photos from all 4 angles as well as top and bottom so you can get a solid idea as to the detailing and condition of the wood. Most of the recovered wood comes from Rajasthan & Gujarat.

The wood used varies and may be seesham, teak or mango.

This is a one of a kind piece and has some beautiful detailing. There is a worn purple patina to this base.
