  • 14000

Stunning vintage hand carved wood plinth with two cross sections. This was recovered from a home that torn down in India. Features ornamental elements that were beautifully hand chiseled by a craftsmen. The age is at least 50 and up to 100 years old.

This is indoor/outdoor suitable. Perfect as an objet, as a candle holder, a sundial stand or stand for to place a garden pot.

We found this ornamental wood piece on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where I work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. These are actual recovered wood pieces from old homes. They have been weathered by the elements and from regular home use. You'll see that I take photos from all 4 angles as well as top and bottom so you can get a solid idea as to the detailing and condition of the wood. Most of the recovered wood comes from Rajasthan & Gujarat.

The wood used varies and may be seesham, teak or mango. You'll note some deterioration in the wood, but it's solid and does feel fragile. A great piece overall.

This is a one of a kind piece and has some beautiful detailing.
