Large Rectangular Handcarved Wood - Architectural Salvage Piece From India, One of a kind - Damaged Piece - Special Discount

*** Save on this piece. While cracks, scratches and holes are common characteristics of my architectural salvage wood pieces, this one has some wood on the end that is chipping away. It seems brittle on the end, so I feel more pieces of the edging will come off if it's handled too much. See the photo that shows the broken piece. It's that section which I feel will lose more wood over time. Due to this, I'm knocking down the price by $35. It's nothing that could not be reattached with some wood glue, so I'll include the broken pieces in a plastic bag to be reattached. Great opportunity buy!! ***

Beautiful vintage hand carved wood rectangular base. Architectural salvage piece recovered from a house that was torn down in India. Wood block features ornamental elements that were beautifully hand chiseled with fine detail by a craftsmen. The age is at least 50 and up to 100 years old.

Perfect as an objet, as a candle holder, bookend or stand for to place a garden pot.

We found this ornamental wood piece on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where we work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. These are actual recovered wood pieces from old homes. They have been weathered by the elements and from regular home use. You'll see that I take photos from all 4 angles as well as top and bottom so you can get a solid idea as to the detailing and condition of the wood. Most of the recovered wood comes from Rajasthan & Gujarat.

The wood used varies and may be seesham, teak or mango.

This is a one of a kind piece and has some beautiful detailing.
