Handcarved Wood Trim from India Mounted on Stand - architectural salvage home decor
Handcarved ornamental wood trim moulding recovered from a home that had been torn down in India. Beautiful weathered wood. The age is at least 50 years old. The wood has been mounted on a sturdy black painted steel stand.
Great lotus flower carving
The wood is undetermined, but would be one of the following Indian woods - sheesham, mango, teak or haldu.
This one of a kind piece makes a beautiful found art piece in a study or living room.
Wood: 8.75" wide x 4" ht x 3/4" deep
Overall height on stand: 8"
I found this ornamental moulding on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where I work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. I designed the steel stand and had it welded and assembled in a small metal workshop in the same Indian town.
I have many different pieces of trim available in various sizes listed on Etsy. All are original molding and one of a kind. Find the one that speaks to you.
