Architectural Salvage Wood Pedestal Base/Plinth, From India, Indoor or Outdoor Garden Accent, Plant Candle Stand, Modern Block Style

  • 8500

Beautiful vintage hand carved wood plinth once served as the base of a column in an Indian home. The wood block features ornamental elements that were beautifully hand chiseled by a craftsmen. The age is at least 50 and up to 100 years old.

This is indoor/outdoor suitable. Perfect as an objet, as a candle holder, a sundial stand, gazing globe base or stand for to place a garden pot.

We found this ornamental wood plinth on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where I work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. These are actual recovered wood pieces from old homes. They have been weathered by the elements and from regular home use. You'll see that I take photos from all 4 angles as well as top and bottom so you can get a solid idea as to the detailing and condition of the wood. I also try to take photos in different light conditions to help get a realistic idea of the color.

Most of the recovered wood comes from Rajasthan & Gujarat. The wood used varies and may be seesham, teak or mango.

This is a one of a kind piece and has a nice bold design. As this is architectural salvage, chips and cracks are typical. If there is something that would affect the stability or strength of the piece, I'll mention it in the listing.
