Beautiful vintage hand carved wood rectangular base. Architectural salvage piece recovered from a house that was torn down in India. Wood block features ornamental elements that were beautifully hand chiseled with fine detail by a craftsmen. The age is at least 50 and up to 100 years old.

This chunky piece is perfect as an objet, as a candle holder, bookend, Plant Stand, doorstop or in your tiki bar.

We found this ornamental wood piece on a trip to the Indian desert state of Rajasthan where we work with people who specialize in recovering visually and historically interesting elements from homes and buildings that are torn down. These are actual recovered wood pieces from old homes. They have been weathered by the elements and from regular home use. You'll see that I take photos from all 4 angles as well as top and bottom so you can get a solid idea as to the detailing and condition of the wood. Most of the recovered wood comes from Rajasthan & Gujarat.

The wood used varies and may be seesham, teak or mango.

This is a one of a kind piece and has some beautiful detailing.
